Default Radio fitment on 142...

In the regular position on the 142; can someone tell me if the modern single din stereos fit without cutting the dash?

Thank, Rick

No!

Single DIN installation in the dash will require cutting!

If you don't want to cut and you want a modern radio, you should consider getting a RetroSound radio that has the control stalks that are not built into to the head unit.

Assuming you're talking pre-73 here, just for the record?

There is a variety of period correct radios that work in that slot, but they are all finicky at this point and really in need of repair (new capacitors and such).

I have a retrosound unit in my Amazon. It works very well and they are about as feature rich as a modern single din, with the exception of no CD player.

Interesting, yeah I would like hands free bluetooth phone and apple apps and modern stuff. Found a Continental single din that is sort of retro, but has all the features and requires cutting. Probably the way I want to go but will check out the retrosound you mention, thanks.
