1993 240 A/C Compressor not turning on

1993 240 - can someone explain to me how to jumper or bypass the low pressure switch to see if that is the issue with the A/C compressor not turning on?

Also, is it possible to apply 12V directly to the compressor to see if that turns it on?

Thanks in advance!

Pull the plug off and jumper between the wires. When the pressure is high enough, the switch completes the circuit.

Only do it briefly as a diagnostic, if the pressure really is too low it will damage the compressor if you keep it bypassed.

And, yes, you can supply power directly to the compressor. You may have an AC switch that isn't making the connection. The switch in the 91-93 240 is notorious for not making a connection if the AC isn't used often enough to make the switch clean itself internally. If you have a voltmeter check both pins at the connector for the low pressure switch with the AC turned on, engine running. One probe to the pin, the other probe to ground.
