So you got a 764 turbo for funs, and a 242 for daily cheap. What are you going to use this one for?

Yes so ever since i put white rice (the 764 turbo) in storage to do a big restoration 3 years ago i have been driving 140's.
My office is moving to Amsterdam next year i will need to do allot more kilometers and the 140's are just not that nice to drive as a 700 series.
My 242 or 760 wont be done in time so i decided to give myself a little Xmas present :-)

This 1986 Volvo 740 with sunroof and B230(?) with 530 head. It runs great and has just a few bad spots. I have been really critical rust wise and you will be surprised how hard it is to find one here not complete rusted or with allot of money in maintenance required. Only real downside is the beated body panels but i got the replacement panels in the right color with the car. They will be droped of at the end of the month or so.

I will start digging through my garage and get some of the nice parts i collected for 700 series over the year because deep inside myself i always knew i'd have a second 700

Really like the seats... First time I notice bucket seats in a 740. Are they pretty standard or can it be considered rare?
I got a 760 from 1984 with leather seats and if you take a corner with that you pretty much end up on the other side of the car.

yeah he delivered it at my home, we put it on the bridge at the garage next door to check for rust. Off course you'll find some but its been the best one i have seen in a while. No rusted out beams like some dutch 86's i have looked at

Yeah that B230K you read some mixed feeling on online, this one runs really great the whole car has been really been taken care of but just never washed or been parked good. Aside from that i'm pretty pleased with it

Plan is to install LPG, i got a LPG tank thats less then 10 years old and lpg nozzle for this carb and the replacement panels with the deal so i will look into that once they are delivered too. Those seats are not original Volvo btw. they are really nice but with the sunroof they are a a bit to high mounted for my taste so lets see.

Isn't the b230k the one with the Herron head.

I had a 740 with the same engine as that but mine was RHD import. It was a b230 with a 530 head and a carb. Very similar engine to a B230F but with a carb

What did the seats come from

The car I had was the same but without the sunroof. I didn't have air con or power windows

Yup, K = heron 631 head and weird constant vacuum Solex downdraft carb. A = 530 head and sidedraft Pierburg.

Nope has a 530 head as far as can see with all the dirt still on there.

Yeah i was wondering what kind of dash can i replace it with i have a whole bunch of them but i know you cannot just swap over any cluster.

yeah i never seen the headliner with those lightspots before but it does look like a factory roof to me. Any pointers on how to clean the headliner btw?
