Okej, so as we know the b230FT's came with the head mounted distributor which is located at the rear of the head next to the firewall...this creates problems when we want to swap in a hotter factory volvo cam, i.e. A and K cams since they have to be machined to accept the distributor, also they create a problem when trying to swap the b230ft's to 240's.

now.........the b230f, or whichever 2.3L that came with the block mounted distributor....its distrubutor.....
can it be modified easily to fit on the b230ft's?
is there any advantage, disadvantage?

would it be more cost efficient to do the swap or to grind the cam?

what are your thoughts on this?

I don't see why distributor location would make a difference, but machining the cam is easier and probably cheaper. To switch to a block mounted distributor, you'll need the intermediate shaft, distributor, cap, rotor, plug wires, and head plug.
