Default Seat repair question re: swedishcarparts foam

I redid my seat foam and springs entirely on the driver's side. It certainly sits better, but the kit I got from Swedish Car Parts came in 4 pieces - 2 for the bottom; two for the back. When I lean back, I notice the back portions separate... I'd chalk it up to 'annoying' rather than 'problematic.' I closely watched youtube and written instructions and don't recall anywhere that said to use some sort of adhesive to bond them.

Live with it?

That’s annoying that the back is in 2 pieces. I don’t know how the 2 pieces seperate/match up, but as long as it doesn’t interfere with securing that center bar section of the upholstery that you need to use hog rings on I don’t see why you couldn’t just use some spray adhesive to glue them together.

Odd, I only see one kit, and it says you get one bottom cushion, and one back cushion, and the pics seem to show single slabs of foam, apparently with the support grids embedded in them...

The language on the site doesn't match what I received... the photograph of the bottom cushion sort of shows the two pieces (the "U" shape separates from the rest of the bottom). The back looks different altogether.

Default my seat reconditioning experience

I am by no measure an expert, but I am on my third set of 240 seat re-dos and I have a few things I know for sure:

1) If you don't make sure the center rods are connected from the upholstery, through the foam and to the seat - everything will move around on you. I would think their foam is like you describe so that you don't have to make holes in the foam to run your connectors (hog rings or I used thick zip ties.) The photo with the beige seats shows where the rods go that I'm referring to.

2) I haven't used their foam, but Swedish Auto Parts upholstery comes without the cuts in the fabric loop so you have to make them yourself.

3) The springs don't matter old or new, what makes a huge difference is Wagonmeister's grid. I have used the IPD replacement grid and Wagonmeister's and I'll never do another one without his grids. They make it feel new again.

4) I use this flooring foam https://www.healthierchoice.com/choice-mats.html to cover the old seat foam and then cut medium density foam to form and fit and spray glue it on. This foam is waterproof on the one side. It's really good at replacing the old floor sponge insulation on the floorboard. I glued an imitator dynomat first and then glued the floor foam on top of it.
