Hell ya, nice work. What gear do you have? Beefy looking sub

Most of my stuff is sundown audio, It just kinda happened that way since my buddy parted out one of his builds. Also really nice that they are right down the highway from me here in North Carolina. That little sub is their sa8 v.3, the amp is an older sundown saz-3500d I also have a sax-125.2 that I need to get hooked up for the front doors. I cut into the doors and installed a set of sundown sa-6.5cs components. And as far as powering all these amps is a xs power d1200 under hood and 2 xs d3100’s in the rack in the rear. Still patiently waiting for my DC power inc. 270a alternator

What makes it so awful? I’ll admit that I’m not much for wood work but meh I guess I make do and most of my cuts are straight lol

Meh to be honest all of this work is probably just temporary. I can never leave anything alone lol subs will be forever changed

Look on YouTube they are awesome little subs. This 8 sounds amazing I just need more than what it has to offer. Now a pair of these things would probably be great. And as far as the company goes sundown audio is more on the competition side of things but they do have more budget friendly stuff as well that sounds great for everyday life

Edit: btw that “little” 8 weighs in at 25 pounds

Like I said it will be a never ending change to see what subs I want to use. Cut up an old box to make a temporary box to test a 12 and realized I need more than one to fit my needs.






Now to try a 15. Probably end up building a new box and running 2 of these.

It's all good, I do need it sometime kinda soon but no rush. I can't imagine what teaching must be like right now, lots of extra challenges for sure.

That's purtty, I'm just too lazy to do it one by one, so I'm buying kits now that comes with speakers and amps that's car specific, I did some sound proofing on the 4runner and thought that was fun, will probably do it to the new truck too.

Always wanted to try a stereo. This one started with an impulse purchase of the amp. I figured it would fit under a front seat. Wrong. LOL. Now I have 37.6' of speaker wire...

A proper sub in the passenger quarter panel would be nice. And larger speakers in the front doors. Sounds pretty good for what it is though.

The new cars sure sound nice. Just the standard factory radio can be impressive.

Guys, face your subs towards the rear of the car. It will improve the response and sound immensely. The idea is that a bass note, like any other, is a wave. If you send it straight up, or out the side, someone hears it, but not you. Insulate the rear of the car so it bounces back towards the passenger compartment. The sound wave needs a certain length, the deeper the bass, the longer the wave. So if the sub is facing towards you, it might sound best somewhere around the middle of your hood. Bounce it off the tailgate, and it will make a full wave when it hits you.

It's more likely the noise cancellation.
