with a 15g at 12-13 PSI, hes not in danger of needing to dump all that excess pressure when he lets off the throttle. and on an auto, you dont have to let off the throttle to accellerate through the gears. put your foot into it, and the torque converter keeps the engine loaded, so boost is not let off when it shifts.
the STOCK cbv works fine. i've been running 15+ PSI for a year or so on the stock CBV on my 15g, and have taken it to 20 PSI on the dyno, and even then, letting off it doesnt have problems.
unless he gets a bigger turbo, he doesnt really need to worry about spending money on a BOV to replace the stock CBV. and for an AMM car, a CBV (even an aftermarket one) is better than a BOV, as routing the excess boost pressure back into the non pressurized inlet of the turbo so you dont lose metered air will not result in stalling issues.
but, like its been said in other threads about BOVs, if you want the sound, go for it.
