I have hunted for replacement interior cards for my 242 for a few years. I bought a couple nice sets, but they are not as perfect as I would like. Why do they fade to black? Not a Metallica reference haha.
After searching a lot for what people have done to refinish them, it seems SEM cordovan brown is the closest color anyone found. It seems to have a bit too much red in it though.
Colorbond has a lot of browns but their pictures are terrible. I contacted them and they recommended a color that turned out to be tan/beige, probably because I said "Volvo" in the email haha. They might have something but I can't afford to buy every brown color to try out, it would be hundreds of dollars to experiment.
Does anyone have a better idea? I would love to see the SEM Cordovan brown next to an original piece of brown trim. I will probably just do this myself since I am impatient once I start getting into something, but thought I would ask.
