Congrats man! I still need to experience this car in person someday. I was really hoping you wouldn't set fire to it in frustration before I have a chance.

Impressive. Nice conclusion.

This demonstrates just how ultra-stupid-sensitive some sensors can be and just how much ultra detail in making connections PERFECT can be needed when intermittent stuff happens.

Thank you to everyone for the help figuring this outóespecially those that reached out via PM with a lot of detailed insight!

Iíll update more before too long (I hope) but for now Iím going to try to get a little driving enjoyment in before winter. I reinstalled the megasquirt for that reason. Fingers crossed that my garage will get built this winter and Iíll have a place to tuck the car away for projects (like maxxecu) in the off-season.

Just changed out the second batch of break-in oilÖ thatís how fresh this engine still is.
I actually have experienced this a handful of times on 850s/960s with crank/no start issues and had just blanked it out of my mind for the last 10 or so years since I have had to deal with it.

Glad you figured it out! I'm sure that was a frustrating experience but for all that follow the thread it's a great learning experience!

Glad it's going!

I'll never forget the no-start after the transmission shop rebuilt the transmission and painted the transmission. I always jump to wondering what shape those surfaces are in.

Now enjoy it while you can. Winter is already hitting us.

Did a good amount of driving this weekend--through the Driftless Area in southwestern Wisconsin yesterday, and over to a cars & coffee event this morning. The car has a long list of minor quirks I need to sort out (it is a 240 after all), but it feels great to be driving it and I'm pretty happy with this power level.

Here are a couple boring videos to prove it runs.

Did you let that shop know that you figured out what the problem was? I know I sometimes have customers who have issues that aren't related to my products and you hear the problems and never know how it got resolved. I'm sure they would be interested to know the solution.

I did not yet. I probably will before too long. The wound still feels a bit fresh and Iím irritated with the immense bill from them.

Are you still using a 960 throttle body?
I was looking at the MaxxECU features for idle control.
Idle control using E-Throttle, idle solenoid, stepper motor or ignition timing

I don't see a Bosch PWM option. What are you using for idle control?

Yes, still using the 960 throttle body, but I still have Megasquirt in the car (I swapped it back in after resolving the issue so that I could get some enjoyment driving with a solid tune before this winter).

When I swap MaxxECU in, I will likely convert to ethrottle to take advantage of those features and simplify the intake side of the engine which is very densely packaged in its current format.

Ah-ha. It appears they DO support PWM. Its described as a PWM idle solenoid, although I'm not sure what that looks like.
