Hope you make it! That is exciting, I can't even have a deadline. Did you see my bulkhead fitting after I finished it? Went pretty well I think.

Thanks! I did see your bulkhead setup. It looks great. If I have any issues with the one I bought, I will switch to the one you picked up. My hard deadline is Mountain Meet the end of September. I plan on having a few miles on the car before then, but you know how it goes lol

Default Braze? Weld?

Took the day off to get vaccinated (Work on my car all day before and after vaccination).
I am working out the rest of my fuel system and whether I will be using all new braided lines from the tank, or attaching 8an fittings to the ends of the factory bent 5/8"ish fuel pipe that is already there. Would it be best to braze the fittings on the pipe?

I also ran to the hardware store and grabbed a bunch of stuff to make my under dash coil pack mounts. Wont be pretty, but it will be functional and likely rough in appearance.

When I did my fuel system I flared the 5/8" tube to 37* and then used a -5 to -6 adapter. I think that all ended up as Earl's fittings. Not a lot of -5 options out there.

Flaring it may not be a bad idea, thank you.

I just ordered the AN adapter fittings for the OEM fuel filter since I have been hearing that they can flow quite a bit of fuel. Not to mention I don't have to modify the factory filter bracket. I still need to decide on where the FPR will be living and the fuel system is as good as done.

Oh ya! I am cracking the whip on myself and my tendency to procrastinate in order to bring the 740. Just ordered my fan shroud from Griffin today. They told me 2wks from order to delivery, so I figured I should order it now even though cooling system is pretty far down the list in regards to my order of completion.

I ordered some stainless bungs from RaceTronix which should be here today. Do you know off hand what material the pipe is? I may have to braze if they are dissimilar metals, no?

Default Fan Shroud and Fittings

Got the AN bungs from RaceTronix as well as the fan shroud from Griffin. Shroud is a huge improvement over the previous. AN fittings for the fuel line will get the tig tomorrow.

The father I move along, the more I add to my list of To-Dos. It is never ending.

Sorry, missed this. The pipes are steel. I bought steel bungs.

Last night I mounted my FPR permanently as well as started mocking up the cooling system. I also measured how much massaging I will need to get the hood closing once again.
Aside from shaping the top of alternator, removing some hood blanket, and slightly elongating the Alt bracket holes... It won't be too bad.

A little trimming of the upper rad support and I can mount the radiator at 90*.

Thanks. I will be making a trip to Summit this weekend to buy the last of the big stuff. I am pretty much down to putting everything together at this point. I will have some more good pics this weekend.

Today I put some more fuel and oil lines together and finished up my temporary plug wire bulkhead grommet. The factory heater core opening seemed like the obvious route for the wires. I really need to get on gauge and fuel pump wiring sooner than later as I have been putting it off. The Innovate solenoid boost controller and it's peripherals need to find a home as well.

Crossed a few more things off of my list this past week. Fuel system and sending unit are finished. Gauges are finished with the exception of my fuel pressure gauge (on order). Spark plug wires are finished. I am pleased with how my temporary plug wire bulkhead turned out. Oh and for those who missed this month's virtual meet... My hood closes now haha.
I am nearing completion, and putting a few hundred miles on her before the roads get salted I looking very likely.

Yesterday I finished putting everything back together. Everything went well. A little too well.
After having no hiccups during the final assembly, I was ready to fire her up.
I have good oil pressure, good fuel pressure, all ignition is connected, etc. However I have no Spark or Injector pulse. HP Tuner shows all my sensors reporting in, and I have no codes. Crank position sensor sees RPM when cranking.
Could my tune have erased itself in the year of low-none in terms of battery power?

Thanks. I still have some vacuum lines to hook up, as well as clean up some oil and coolant lines. I will be welding the wideband bung once I can get it to my shop. I am really hoping to get it to the track even for one run before the track closes for the year.

Default She lives!

Today I fired her up for the first time in awhile. After a bit of searching, I found a pin on the ECU connector that wasn't fully seated as well as 2 pinched wires. I am responsible for the pinching. I failed to make sure that all the wires were clear before I ran the ecu connector bolt down. Anyways, here are a couple photos and videos.
