Default Fuel In-Tank Unit confusion - HELP

Hello Fellow TBs!!

1997 b230fk 945 on Vems

Looking for a fuel in-tank unit (mine seems to have a bad sender).

Decided to lookup the OE number on it, and now I'm confused.

Why are there two different units that seem to fit different years?

This is said to fit up to 1994 -
https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/p...6/9142048.html

While this is said to fit from 1995 -
https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/p...7/6842607.html

Looking on IPD and Skandix sites I see that 9142048 is also said to fit only 1993-1994. Specifically.

WTH is going on? Are there really different units? Do the fit across different year or is there really a difference?

Thanks in advance!!

Looking at the diagrams they use two different style pumps. 9142048 uses a shorter & wider fuel pump and 6842607 uses a taller & thinner pump so they’ll have different mounting

I see. I'm running a 255 walbro, so fuel pump mounting is hacked up anyways. All I'm after is a new fuel level sender.

Basically this means that I can order anyone of these and transfer my walbro on to the new unit?

Am I getting this right or am I missing something?

I'm being told that the difference is that one of these is ment for models with a single main in-tank pump while the other is meant for models with two pumps where the in-tank one is the secondary pump.

Can anyone confirm this?

Not 100% sure but I believe 6842607 is for single pump systems

Strictly going by the parts catalogue, 9180932 / 9140693 is the correct unit for your 1997 Turbo car, which has a single pump setup.
