That's exactly the scotia blue? I am going for. I sample mixed locally and seems darker. Does anyone know the Dupont code on this?

Thanks

Scotia Blue is very close to what I'd call Carolina Blue, but y'all might not have that up there.

The same color is going to photograph differently depending on photographer, camera, lighting, etc, but you should be able to average these out.

Have you shot any of the paint? If not, do a test panel or something and see if it "looks" right to you.

Did a test panel. Seems to dark in comparison to any picks I've seen as Scotia Blue. I gave my Dupont retailer Volvo #139 and she produced a sample from that. Not being a paint expert, I'm told this is a non metallic paint.

Those medium blue colors fade quite a bit in the sun.

Every paint company will have a different mixing code for each type of paint.

That's proprietary information that is only available to shops with a Dupont contract.

Besides it's not something that would do you any good unless you had a mixing machine, and a scale.

I believe it's 108 paint code. Don't have the car with me. Can't check.

There isn't an easy answer especially with oxidized 30+ year old blue paint.

Talked to my automotive paint salesman guy.

#1 Dupont Nason isn't 'collision quality' paint [color variations are to be expected].

#2 If he looked up the code for you he'd be seeing the same mix colors and numbers for that color.

#3 Even if they shot the spectrophotometer at your panel and they matched it, the color of it would change if they cut and polished said 30 + year old oxidized panel.

All that said if you want it a couple shades lighter, tell them that and they'll add some white.

Thanks RC, my car is light blue 404. Wanted to get to Harlard's 244 blue. Maybe the best is to add some white

213 mid blue and the 1970 140 99? blue are are way nicer than hideous chalkboard 139. 213 is '85+ and similar, but much more pleasing to the eye.

I liked that color so much on my old '80 DL that I had it repainted 139. It's all about your preference. I disagree it looked like a chalkboard. It's a great classic Volvo color.
