Default Intercooler soft turbo different to FT

Hi,

I´m looking for an upgrade intercooler and according to the web, my ´97 945 soft turbo (135hp) has a different intercooler than the 165hp version. It also seems that the intercooler from KL Racing for A/C cars fits on some cars quite well and on others not.
Has anyone some experience?

According to the parts catalogue, all B200/230 Turbo engines are using p/n 3507229 for the AC version (1317319 for non-AC).

I have the non-AC model and installing was a matter of about 30 minutes, but I have also seen some conflicting comments for the AC version.

have you thought about a NPR intercooler. They fit pretty easy, funny they look just like that DO88 intercooler. Probably half the cost. But dont know if one is better than the other. I ran a NPR with 20lbs boost. IT was pretty solid and seemed to work well.

I did not try the do88 cooler myself, but I do not see how it justifies almost double the price of the KL unit.
I have it in my car since 2.5 years, so I can't comment on longevity but so far it looks almost like new.
Performance wise the KL IC was an outstanding improvement over stock.
I made a thread about my experience with it a while ago: https://forums.tbforums.com/showthread.php?t=343520

Keep in mind that in our part of the world we do not have Isuzu trucks, unless they came in other cars, so a NPR intercooler will be impossible to find.

I bought mine off of ebay think it was like 225.00. Which is probably about the same price as klracing intercooler. Klracing is over seas and youll have to wait about a week to recieve it which isnt bad at all. It looks nice and have heard alot of good things about it.

Hi,
NPR is a no go. DO88 to expensive. Have seen that skandix also offers one. Will try this one as I think that back sending in case of non-fitment will work much easier as with KL.

Looking at the photos on Skandix, I'm 100% sure they are the same Intercoolers as KL is selling.
The photos on both websites and the one I have look identical.

That being said, go for it. You'll be very happy!
