![]() Todays misson: Reupholster the inner sunroof panel.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Everthing back together and fitted in the car. The headliner itselt is so fragile, that I have to wait for a friend to come by and help me out. ![]() Direct comparisson between the old and new headliner fabric. Today I finally recieved a genuine "Turbo" trunk badge from a 240 Turbo. I scored the "Turbo" grill emblem as well, but it hasn't arrived yet. ![]() |

![]() Stopped work on the headliner at the moment, because I'm trying to source a glas sunroof swap from a late 960 or V90 to replace the corroded metal sunroof that I have right now.
Instead I refurbished my grill. ![]() Put it apart, repainted it, polished the crossbar and repainted the Turbo badge as well. That I don't have to drive without a grill, while working on it a friend lend me his spare grill... ![]() I guess we don't have to argue about which grill does look better... :D ![]() While working on the car I finally painted my driver side mirror as well. The passenger side I already replaced with a used unit, I painted as well. Now they look even. The passenger side was the worst when I got the car. ![]() Passenger side before... ![]() Driverside after. |

![]() I managed to get my hands on a used Turbo+ kit. The solenoid was missing, but I found a NOS unit to complete it. I already installed it, but so far I wasn't able to get it to work with the LH2.2... If somebody has some tips, feel free to contact me.
![]() Second kind of rare score: A parcel shelf to replace. That's in my eyes the cleanest way to remove the ugly mounting brackets for the trunk cover without getting rid of it completly. I just need to the original mounting pieces. ![]() What's the smartest thing to do when you freshly reupholstered the inner panel from your stock metal sunroof? Exactly, get your hands on a 960 glass sunroof and do the job over again. The blind it comes with was gray and dirty. So I reupholstered it as well and painted the handle black. Today I installed it and did some rust removal when the sunroof was out. ![]() ![]() ![]() I deleted the old violet winddeflector including the self made brakets from the preowner and tried the OEM one my dad gave me. The brown tint on the sunroof and the brown tinted deflector are such a good looking combination. Can't wait to get some brakets and install it together with the set of brown tinted OEM window visors for all four doors. ![]() |

![]() Finally the headliner is done. Just a little reminder how it looked before:
![]() And that's now. The sunroof cut out is done as well. I used some velours piping, usually used on the classic Jaguars to finish it off. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Only interior part I managed to fix: ![]() Much better now. ![]() But than 2020 did, what it could to best... Well, didn't expect to found that below the carpets - including some water. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() The car need to be driveable on monday, so we can use the workshop for customer cars again, so I decided to fix the worst part first. Driverside below the brake booster where the firewall meet the inner fender.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() For that repair the pedals and the brake booster need to come out - I took the chance to paint the booster. ![]() And I sand blasted and painted the upper radiator brakets. ![]() |

![]() That's the result from last sunday and today. All floors are cleaned, rust is removed, all holes are patched up and sealed and everything is resprayed. The old rustpatches from the preowner are not great, but as long as they do their job I'll leave them as the are.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The car was parked in the rain the whole week. Passanger side stayed dry, but on the driver side I found a new leak. Luckily it seems like an easy fix: The old sealant broke and let the water in... ![]() I also repainted the wipers. ![]() ![]() ![]() To finish it all off I bought a snow cap at aution in sweden. Can't wait to get it. ![]() |

![]() The wipers are just prepped and rattle canned flat black. For plastic parts I use SEM paints, for everything else just our standart rattle cans we have in the shop.
Since I'll wait for the next rain before I'll put the carpets back in I'll make some smaller stuff for now. One thing that always annoyed me was the cover on top of the glove box that was loose when I got the car and finally fall to pieces when I installed the GPS sensor for the sat nav. My wife just called the resulting hole the 'map tray'. The preowner cut the lower part of that cover and drilled some hole in it to mount it from the front - no clue why... ![]() No more map tray, but her little golden bird is allowed to stay. ![]() A while back I put that 240 Turbo badge and the missing Volvo badge on the trunk. ![]() |

![]() So far the floor is still dry, even after the snowfall, we had yesterday. I guess this weekend I'll start putting the interior back together.
Today I fixed another little thing... While converting to the double DIN stereo I moved some relais. So far only the fuel pump relais was mounted, the rest were just hanging loose somewhere in the depth of the center console. I fixed that by installing some relay holders behind the glove box. ![]() The antenna splitter for the digital radio is also mounted. I put double sided tape on the back and put it on the side of the fuse box. ![]() |
