Question Clutch Pedal in 940

Hi everyone,

Iím hoping you can save my butt again. Deep into a CD009 swap and I made a large error in my research and parts sourcing. Iíve recently discovered that the 240 pedal cluster does not match the 7/940 pedal cluster, so the parts car that I purchased does not have the parts I need. Is there a good way to modify the 240 pedal assembly to work in the 940, or does anyone have a 740 pedal cluster and associated parts? I posted a wanted add as well. I have forced myself into a corner at this point because I have just about every other conceivable part already and need this finished before august. Any help and/or advice greatly appreciated.

Logan

iirc there's a bracket that you need off to the end of the brake "cage", and from there you could probably fabricate any kind of pedal. If you can't locate this part or parts, there are aftermarket pedals and brackets you could use, I have one in the shop that came with a clutch setup for another car, seemed fairly straight forward as far as mounting and such.

I’m not sure if I follow perfectly, but here’s my best attempt. Are you saying that the clutch pedal from the 240 is somehow attachable to the 940 brake pedal box? And if so, I assume I’d have to resize the brake pedal somehow. And would you mind liking one of those aftermarket options if you have a second? Thank you

yeah the brake pedal oughta shrink (although... depending on how you do it, maybe not, who knows). If by some chance you can find a 700 series manual, that'll have all the things you need.. but those are kind of a rare breed these days.

at the end of the day, all we're talking about is a lever/fulcrum setup, if you have the tools (big if, I know.. assumptions on my part) it's not that big of a deal to fab something up for both pedals. I'll see if I can dig up the pedal dealio part number, but I bet a quick google...

now I will say this, the cost difference between speedway's in house brand stuff and wilwood is negligible, and I'd 100% spend whatever extra for the wilwood, but that should get you going.

I think given enough time I could fab up just about anything, Iíve got an angle grinder and a mig welder, but itís the time that Iím worried about. Iíd have to figure out how to effectively set up and space the slave, and how to securely fasten the clutch pedal. Might be time to rip out the dash for a better view of my canvas.
