Default Adding an Aftermarket Water Temperature Gauge to your 240

Quick tutorial about adding an aftermarket water temperature gauge to a 240:

I installed my sender into the upper radiator hose and used a VDO gauge.

Why not install it in the head? You will get a much more accurate reading. Where you have it, it will only be accurate when the thermostat is open. You can get an adapter for that VDO sender so it will fit in the head, I bought one off the for sale section here.

I've been pretty happy with the reading from the hose, it's a simple install and it seems to be close enough in relation to the dash cluster gauge.
Where did you install it in the head? What's the sender number?
