Wideband install

The wideband should have its own heater circuit. Stock heater circuit should be on a timer. Wire the new controller per its manual, should be switched power that is on the run/start position with key on. If you're lucky the wideband controller will have a wb gauge output and a narrow band output for the ecu.

I just tapped into the power wire to the coil.

Anyway, it's installed but it doesn't goddamn work. Calibrated fine, seemed to kinda work at first but now it just spazzes out.

Well I give up. Got it to work once after resetting, but the next time I started the car it was back to showing A0 or A2. Can't even get it to reset now. When it was working, the narrowband simulation wasn't so it was running in the 9-10 range the whole time.

I finally got the AEM for my 240 after fighting with an Innovate LC for a couple years. Sent it back to them twice, it would arrive back with no explanation, working just fine only to crap out again after a few weeks. Tried a brand new sensor, worked for a few weeks then crapped out again, reading full lean. Made it lots of fun to try using Autotune to set up my MS. After buying the AEM I hooked it up and it worked perfectly, has continued to work ever since.

+1 on currently having an innovative plx wideband crap out on me too...seems like quality control has gone to ****. I have a 2 year old unit that has never missed a beat though!

Hi Cwazywazy,
Please send this D2 unit back to us for replacement asap. The video shows something unusual and not right.
Let's make it right for you.

Email us to support@wide-band.com and get an RMA today.

Thanks
Rick

If I know anything, and I don't know much, its that you need a good clean power and ground for a wideband. Power from the battery or a junction block on a relay switched by 12v ign, grounded to the battery.

I already ripped it out, but I guess I can bench test it before I ship it back. I took the lazy route and grounded it with a ring terminal around a (painted) screw..

EDIT: Still broken.

On my Innovate LC wideband everyone said check the power, I eventually tried running it from a separate isolated battery pack sitting on the floor of the car and that made no difference. With the AEM I just powered it from the O2 sensor heater plug I had added previously, no issues.
