Default 240 door hinge same as a740/940 hinge

I had to replace. 940 door hinge and I noticed it looked like the 240 one I had
I did a search to see if they were the same and didn't come up with anything.
So today I had the old one off and directly compared them and discovered that they are the same hinge

Is this common knowledge? Am I the only that didn't know this?

Yes, Volvo reused the 1976-style 240 hinges on the grampy series cars. Another item that's the same between the 240 series, the live-axle 7/9 series, and the 850's are the rear brake pads.
