Morning TB- after doing another infuriating oil change on my 1985 760 Turbo this weekend, it's time to put the filter in a less stupid location.
TB search turned this up- https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-15715 as a decent option. I'd install -10an adapters and make some swanky hoses to go with it.
However, in the threads that I found here, it seems that people using them have done away with the stock oil cooler sandwich and mount these adapters straight to the block.
Is there a reason that I wouldn't be able to buy the above adapter from Summit Racing but leave the stock oil cooler sandwich in place? Ie. just screw the adapter on where the oil filter would normally go and change nothing else? Or if I go with a relocation kit do I have to also think about an aftermarket oil cooler?
