Default Remote start

Has anyone installed a remote start on a 240? The lady's birthday is coming up, and she would like a remote start for her '88 244. Any recommendations and/or tips would be appreciated.

Or a robotically controlled shifter or clutch pedal

I had a cheap JCWhitney (IC Dynamics) remote starter in an 84 for a couple years.

I would warn you away from that particular model for only one reason: If you think pocket dialing is bad, wait until your pocket starts the car.

Find one that has some sort of safety against accidentally starting, so you don't go to bed hearing the motor running outside. I hear the safer ones require two presses, or something less likely to occur by accident. I can't imagine anyone having remote start in a car that gets garaged, but consider that too.

Ended up going with a "vehicle specific" kit from autoalarmpro.com
I'll post back with how it works out.
