Follow-up on the Miata - it only became drivable again today. I decided to put some heavy duty rear hubs on it from V8Roadsters, and they ended up being slow to arrive (waiting on ARP wheel studs). Two hubs, two bearings, I was going to replace both of them.
Disassembly went great, right up to the point where I went to put the new bearing in the upright. And it's... like a good 1/4 inch too big? WTF? Clearly the wrong part. So I looked at the other one, and LOL I can sort of see how they got mixed up somewhere along the supply chain:
510003 fits the Miata, and 510030 fits an Acura Integra/Honda Civic. *groan*
Well, at the very least I had one correct bearing, and I really only needed to fix that. So finished up the bad side and left the other alone for now. Back to the zoom-zoom-boom.
