SWEET 142GT !! ^ What type is the gear shift lever knob/handle? is it a OE Volvo 142 optional knob?
 
Is the mic for a PA system? Just like the old Mr.Microphone commercials "Hey baby, we'll be back to pick you up in 1/2 an hour."

The mic is part of the Volvo cassette deck, that red button is a record button for dictating on a tape. I've seen a few of these exact radios in old Porsche 911s only they say Porsche on the cassette door instead of Volvo. I've never seen another Volvo one.

The pioneer super tuner is a much superior sounding and sort of period correct addition.

Such nice cars, is that yellow a OE Volvo color for the 1981+ Euro 240's. I do feel like I saw a wagon in that color here in the states, it was a 1986+ some how!?
