Poulrais's 745 16V from up North

what turbo did you put on the header that caused it to crack? that's one thing we never had to deal with on that header.

It's a Garrett T04E... It cracked at the flange and also where the wastegate tube meets the divider. Not a big deal really and the bracing took care of it.

im so jelly.. where does the time and money come from.. I need help! lol

I sold my motorbike to finance a part of this build... I also do computer work on nights and weekends and I mostly do the work on the car by myself, seeking help from my friend Dave when I'm at a dead end. And most importantly, you have to be patient! I've been working on that car since 2010 and the car was on the jackstands for 10 months when I did the 16V conversion. I don't have that much time to work on the car being the father of 3 boys (mostly adults now) and you need a very understanding GF if you plan to be in the garage like 25 hours a week!

It's not my daily so there is no impact on my hability to drive around if the car is stranded in the garage!

This is supposed to be fun you know!! But sometimes I would gladly set the car on fire! Mostly when I have to do a wiring job, like the one I'll be starting soon to clean up the mess laid out by the PO when he installed the Euro headlights!

Result of a little too much torque and grip at the local dragstrip... On street tires.

Question: Is a reinforced stock subframe capable of withstanding around 400 ft/lbs of torque? I do want to go for the Ford 8.8 swap but I don't have time for this right now...

So my HG took a crap because I think I had a drop in fuel pressure while on boost so the engine is out for the HG job and I will check the rest of the hardware at the same time... crawling under the 745 led me to decide to retire the shell because I don't trust it anymore. Heavy rust at the anchor points of the frame rails to the floor and at the wheel wells and botched wiring from the PO that I never had the courage to fix means a part out for the venerable 1991 black 745. The motor, Getrag and some other stuff will be swapped in this 1990 740 from California that is rust free and in my favourite color, metallic silver.

Took a last video yesterday of that setup before parking the car in my garage to take the whole setup out. Sold to Ilvmetal from Woodstock, NY who should pick the whole engine setup with the MS2 and swap it in his 142. I'm going for the B6284t swap over the winter and will hopefully be ready to take a ride in late spring 2018! :)

Vid shows 3 rolling pulls from around 75 mph. I guess I'm about 30% throttle opening and I hit a max of 15 PSI. Max boost is set to 20 PSI but I'm experiencing heavy clutch slipping in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears cause the clutch isn't holding the torque in these gears anymore.

The buzzing sounds you're hearing are coming from my shifter ball and shifter bezel trims btw...
